KDSmart allows you to perform scoring phenotypic data in the field.

Concept

• Test: Also known as Experiment or Study, multiple trials can be uploaded to KDSmart

• Batch: An essay contains multiple row and column charts

• Sub-Plot: If desired, you can decide to mark several sub-plots within each plot

• Trait: a phenotype to mark for each plot or Sub-Plot

• Trait Instance: You can tag multiple instances of each Trait

The Trait can have a pre-defined range of values ​​to allow for single-tap scoring using a "pick-de-list" approach. You can associate many Trait s to the Plots/sub-plots in a Test, but select a subset of these to be marked during a specific field marking visit.

Other attributes of Lots and subplots are:

• Note: a text string

• Quick Tag: for quick annotation of a Lot/Sub-Plot

• Attachments: Photos and video or audio recordings

Quick Tag can be created while in the field or pre-defined and carrerummy noble apkgado in KDSmart, using the companion desktop application KDXplore. You can apply zero, one or more Quick Tags to each Plot/Sub-Plot.

We use the term Sub-Plot as KDSmart can be used for any type of flora/fauna relevant to your judgment or experience. Similarly, a Plot can be any Trial partitioning (in this version we support Plot-Id, Row and Column, Block Partitioning) and not all rows and columns need to be present.

When necessary, data recorded by KDSmart can be exported for transfer to other computer systems where it can be analyzed or stored in a database. While this can be done by uploading or transferring files, it is most easily and smoothly done using the KDXplore desktop application.

Other products

KDSmart is part of a suite of Diversity Matrices software supporting phenotypic, genetic and environmental data collection, storage and analysis. These products are intended for breeding and pre-breeding applications, but can also be used in multidisciplinary agro-ecological and environmental research enterprises.
